Real cases, anonymised
What we see go wrong, again and again.
We look after 100+ companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many came to us after something went wrong, with another provider or on their own. Metin has seen each of these himself.
01Found on an invoice
“Marketing” instead of accounting
The client bought bookkeeping. The invoice said marketing, because the provider was not allowed to offer accounting. We have also seen “cleaning” and even “sujuk sales”. When the tax authority asks who kept your books, you are the one left holding it.
“You buy accounting and get billed for marketing. That is when the alarm bells should ring.”Metin
02Found behind the scenes
Your books, quietly outsourced
The person you pay hands your accounting to someone you have never met. Ask a technical question and the answer comes the next day, after they asked someone else.
“They simply outsource your accounting to an outside provider, and that really bothers me.”Metin
03Found after a deadline
Missed deadline, and nobody did it
A filing is late, the penalty arrives, and three parties point at each other. Your accountant says he never did the books. The outside provider has no contract with you.
“By the time you find out who really kept your books, it is usually too late.”Metin
04Found with new clients
A year without bookkeeping
The most common thing we see with new clients. Then come penalties, a year-end report nobody can sign and, at worst, a frozen bank account.
05Found after the year end
Corporate Tax return never filed
A Corporate Tax return is due even with zero profit and even at 0 % tax. Missing it means penalties, and it is completely avoidable.
06Found at year end
The financial report, billed again
Your company needs a year-end financial report. Some providers charge for it on top of the monthly fee. With running bookkeeping, ours is included.
“We know other agencies charge extra for it. We don’t.”Metin
